COUNCIL NEWS... CLLR READ JOINS MOSLEY IN RESIGNING FROM PLANNING COMMITTEE

Cllr Read, the developer's friend and known for his arrogant obnoxiousness has mysteriously resigned from the Planning Committee. 
This follows that of Cllr Mosley for the noblest of reasons. 
We know of the reason for the going of Mosley, but can't fathom the reason the resignation of Read....

      Cllr Read and Cllr Warwick (The Chairman) cannot stand each other. It got so bad that one had to go

    Cllr Mosley was a loss to the Committee. Quite the opposite for the self possessed and self promoting Cllr Read

    Read's open disrespect for residents was a disgrace.

    It is to be hoped that other youngish councillors can be found, with the energy and community focus to stand up to developers and officers alike.

    He resigned because of pressure of work, not on any point of principle. Being on planning is a dispiriting experience - you dare not oppose officers' recommendations because they then throw a wobbly and say they can't defend decisions at appeals. Whatever happened to professionalism?
